Following a successful Big Bash campaign with the Melbourne Renegades, Australian leg spinner Cameron Boyce will make his return to the indoor court this Sunday as Captain of the Strathpine Burras in season three of the NICL.
The Boyce brothers will line up together for the Strathpine Burras in the South-East Queensland division of the National Indoor Cricket League (NICL) this Sunday evening; the first live streamed match of 2019.
Boyce made his debut for the Queensland Bulls in March 2010, followed by successful KFC Big Bash League stints with the Adelaide Strikers, Hobart Hurricanes and more recently with the Melbourne Renegades. His consistent performances led to seven Twenty20 internationals for Australia where he played against Pakistan and India. Boyce took a collective of eight wickets across his seven international matches, including the big scalp of Indian Captain Virat Kohli.
Sixteen wickets in BBL08 and 2/30 (4) in the Big Final has Boyce back in the frame for international selection ahead of next years Twenty20 World Cup but for now, his attention is focused on Captaining the Burras and playing alongside his brother in this seasons NICL.
More known for his career on the indoor court, Cameron’s twin brother Chris was part of Australia’s World Cup victory over New Zealand at the 2009 Indoor Cricket World Cup in Brisbane.
(Cameron) Boyce joins many currently contracted State, BBL and WBBL players competing in the NICL this season including; Clive Rose, Clint Hinchcliffe, Josh Philippe, Teneale Peschel, Tegan McPharlin, Chloe Rafferty, Meagan Dixon, Amanda Jade-Wellington and Carly Leeson.
